poppin at WOT

i just rebiult my 02 with a std bore 11.1, stg 2 hc, kibb springs, 450 chain, port an polish head, ported intake, ported header and fresh bp93 octane and it pops or tings at wot more under load. what could this be. is it lean main jetting detonation, low octane detonation, or could it be a small headgasket leak. cause it kind of makes a peep sound. . my carb is 42pilot 152 main with the choke removed, no lid, no advance key or rev box. plz help

im pretty sure your 152 main jet is too small for that setup.

I have a uni with the lid on, stage 1 cam, 10:1 weisco, and a r4 pipe.
I have a 152 now, and its a little lean. Youdeffinitly need to go up some

Mine did something similar, when I went to a 416 with 11:1 compression and an HRC cam, it hit the rev limiter VERY fast and sounded like a popping it might make if the jetting was off. I simply added a GT Thunder low RPM rev box and the problem went away..

Just a thought that may be your issue....
