I purchased a 05 450r this week and the only problem is that the quad sat in a shed for a few months and the engine covers have the little white oxidation marks on them its on some other spots of the quad but is there an easy way to remove this so the atv looks like new again other wise quad is mint no rust..

doubt it oxidized from being in a shed, that bike had to be sitting outside. But if the wd-40 don't work try aircraft remover. it will strip everything off down to the aluminum just watch your gaskets.

I just bought a 400ex that had the oxidation and It sat under a car port, so thats probably what happend to your 450r.

I bought a dremel tool and a small scrub brush to go on it. I cleaned my engine and the results were alot better than before. I would also buy quite a few of these brushes too front brush (http://www.shop.com/op/~Dremel_404_1_2_Bristle_Brush-prod-34535185-53794714?sourceid=3)
