Cr125 wont start

I started my bike up and took off and i hit 3rd gear and it just died and wouldnt start.I have put a new plug in it adjusted the timing and checked everything that the manual says to check and it still wont start.It is getting spark and gas but it wont start.I checked the compression and it is 45 lbs this sounds very weak to me.What should the compression be at?

about 145 lbs. sounds like you need a rebuild. i know a place where you can get a whole top end for $110 if you want the site.

Im hoping the ring is just worn out so i dont have to get a new piston.

Just put a new piston, rings, wrist pin bearing, head gasket & base gasket and be done with it.. It's better just to do it right then try and save a bill or two.. ;)

Well i dont have the money right now for a complete topend rebuild.

look on e-bay you can find pistons and rings for dirt cheap sometimes and a topend gasket kit is like $30

it already blew??:eek2: josh's dad just rebuilt it right before i got it. well now that i think about it it was almost a year ago. that sucks man. do you think you'll have it done by next sunday??

he didnt say so. you'll have to check the # on the top of the piston and find out of the honda shop

Ok i took it apart and the piston is shot.The oil i was mixing with my gas was breaking down once it got hot so the piston was scraping the sleeve.Once it got hot enough the piston ring broke and worked its way to the top and bounced around on the top and finally stuck in my piston.So i gotta get it bored 60 over its already 20 over but the marks on the sleeve are so deep i dont think 40 over would take those marks out.I gotta get a new topend kit and gasket kit also.

Does anyone know where i can get oversized pistons motosport is sold out?
Should i send this thing off to a company and get it bored or take it to my local honda shop?
