new rear tires, help a newb.

Well I mostly ride around the farm, mx track and short length trails. I am looking at getting some new rear tires. I like the look of not a lot of sidewall on the tire and a wide tire, not that it really matter how it looks, lol. Any help on what sizes and **** I need to know. And I will get new rims if I need too.

razr II's have TOO much side bite to use for mx...a friend I race mx with uses 20" itp xcr's and does very well.... he also trail rides a TON. go with a moerately aggressive tire like razr1's or kenda klaws

i ride gbc mud sharks. love em, great grip, good wear, i would def go with these over holeshots for any kind for trail riding and some xc

holeshots great for hard pack/drypack/some rocks. hit wet rock,mud or slick trails, high wheel speed is a must and not always a garuntee. more aggressive tread eliminates this problem. kinda like riding with SSR boggers in the rear

I Did a TOO Much research on tires before I bought mine, But I feel I made the right choice. I went with XC Kenda Klaws. I Got the XC's because of the 6 Ply rears and 4 Ply Fronts. They look and ride awesome! Very predictable! I dont MX so the weight doesnt really matter to me. I have heard that they last longer than any other tire out there and they are cheaper than most. I went with 20-11-9 in the Rear and 21-7-10 in the front. I am sticking with stock wheels right now, just because I really have no reason to get them until I either gouge up or bent the stock ones.

If you like the look of a lower profile tire, then get 10" rims instead of the stock 9". 20-11-10 would give you a nice low profile look. As for tires, I prefer holeshots. They look good and preform great. razr 2's just look rediculous;)

I got 20in fast trekkers on my 400ex, they are a great tire. slide well, and hook up in about any conditions.

My buddy has some 20in fast trekkers on 10in wheels. He loves em.
