Buying 250r cracked case 1 hr on new rebuild?

hey guys. think about picking up a good ol 250r. i sold mines a few years back and want to get another one. this ones a 310 with cool head and hot rod crank. he says a has a fresh rebuild but threw a chain and cracked the case. any problems i should look for if he threw a chain. i know the to check the frame and everything else. can i still start the bike or should i just check for compression and spark.

check the casesaver bolts for cracking/missing as it can ruin a case, also check the front of the swingarm, especially if it's aluminum. sometimes chains can bind in there and wear through the metal, requiring welding or replacement. This happened to me once, the casesaver did it's job but it still bent the bolts and slightly cracked the case and swingarm , which I had welded. Yes you
