i just went to the wire on the right side of the quad while you are sitting on it, its white with a blue stripe, works fine, i just used one of those blue splice clips, took 5 min tops.

What quad is the tether for? I ask because you post your question in the LT-R450 forum, but in your sig you have a YFZ450. If the tether is for an LT-R450, a normally closed circuit tether would be best for the EFI. Pingel sells these, as does Tucker through Rocky Mountain ATV. Pingel price = about $70, Rocky Mountain price = $19.99! With this type of tether, you merely wire it into your ignition wires from the ignition switch on handle bars. When you depart ways with your quad pulling the tether, it "opens" the circuit killing the engine.
