First I used a dremel to get the paint off since i did not have any paint stripper. Then I used some sandpaper. I think it was 80, 120, 500, then i think i used 1200. Last, i used a brillo pad to shine it up and smooth it out. I have yet to polish it. Here is the pic. Its not the greatest, but it was the best that i could do in 3 hours. :devil

I have a feeling that will rust. B/c you used Sand Paper it is gonna have deeper scratches in it and the water may stay in those scratches.

i sent my bumper which i had bought from daryl to raths to be resized, and it was there for over a month, so he gave me a 40.00 throttle cover for free for my trouble:D...

Yeah i used the wire wheele on my dremel. It works like a charm. Is the motheres polish abrasive?? or does it just shine it. Thanks

the mothers aluminum polish is great.. just used it on my PRM bumper / grab bar.. literally wihin about an hour the look like they came polished (and they have a brushed / rough finish from PRM)..

the mothers aluminum polish works more on a chemical reaction than abrasives I believe.. you just rub it in for a minute or two until it turns brown/black, then wipe it off with a clean cloth..

piece of cake, does a great job!

what it does is it deoxidises the metal. and that wakes it shiny

leo is right. mothers sets off the prm!! and with any alumiumn you have to polish it alot anyways so either way u do it u gotta maintain it. unless it has a clear coat on it like the stock d i d wheels
