Was running a stock radiator on a ct 330.. Bought a 350 pv .. do alot of mx'ing.. I'm assuming it's time to step it up with the oversized radiator even with the inline coolers?

LathersR,
It shouldn't be a problem on the mx track, my ridin bud has a lrd 330 and he ran with the stock radiator for 2 seasons, we woods ride and the only time he overheated was in the real slow technical stuff, I run a 350pv in the dunes and never have a problem. I'm sure the motor will run cooler overall but it's not a necessity. My buddy had one custom made at a local shop here in town because he didn't like the fit of the 2 aftermarket ones he tried. His quad never overheats with the larger rad.

The inline coolers must have helped alot. I bought a 6 or 8 fin for the top and a 21 fin (yes 21 fin lol) for the bottom hose. I have a esr temp gauge and it never overheated.. A larger radiator is alot of money that is why I am so concerned if it worth the money or not.. The races are 10 minutes on average...stepping up to a pv 20cc more could do it... i dont know?

My 350 nonpv on the stock rad ran between 180-200 :) until I switched to an Afco unit which ran between 160-180 :) :) .

But then again I'm always running WOT in the dunes :D.

Keep this in mind, If you are going to spend big $$$ on a top end, why chance it? Also the cooler you can keep a motor the more power you can get out it through comp, jetting and ignition. A cooler running motor will last longer and save you money in the long run. So the oversized radiator will pay for itself in time. I personally like the Walsh radiators, it fits and looks awsome. Too bad they quit making them.

the walsh radiators were $600, I have one on my hydrid crf450r. I have a afrom? on my trx250r, it doesn't get hotter than 150, even on slow stuff. I think I paid $300 for mine. I have pwr's on my atc250r, it runs pretty cool with them also. I have 310pv's on both of those motors.
