Are the shocks front and rear interchangeable between all years 250r's?

Can I get a used one from a 86, 87, and 89 and put it on my 88?

Yes.

However the rear rear shocks, and linkages for the different years were different lengths. But any year rear shock will bolt up to any year linkage. But your quad might sit slightly higher, or lower in the rear.

So I can get an 87 or 86 aftermarket used front set and it will work on my 88?

As long as they are for stock a-arms, assuming thats what you have.

Just be carefull when buying used aftermarket shocks. Make sure you find out what weight they are valved for.

Yes the a-arms are stock.

Is it better to get ones set up for your weight? Can u get ones for a lighter person and have them rebuilt?

Can't you get them rebuilt/set up for your specific weight?

Are they even rebuildable?

How much is it to rebuild if so, to change to my weight and iding style?

Yes its a whole lot better. Might want to check on prices of getting a used set revalved. I know you can just dont know how much.

I'm no pro rider.

I will mostly do trail and some track riding. My buddy wants me to try track. I grew up trail riding.

On my R that I just trail ride and play on I have a set of 450r shocks on it with the springs backed off all the way off and I like the way it rides. I'm 185 lbs.
