Need help from 450r owners

Im planning on getting a 450r in about a month so i have a few questions first. Now i know about the crank probs on the late 04's and early 05's but is there anything else to worry about? What differences are there motor wise between the 04,05, and 06? im probably going to get an 04 or 05 but its going to depend on which each one offers. And if theres anything else i should know please let me know. thanks

04-05 have lower compression pistions, they dont have electric start and the 06-07 has some changes on the suspension i do believe,06-07 have different headlights, im sure theres alot more, i like my 05 and u can ind them cheaper then the 06-07

i got mine for 4900 in the box from my local honda dealer in july of 06

the 04/05 and 06/07 are completely different bikes

yeh it will be a kick start. if i put a slightly higher compression piston and did the hrc kit (does this include a hotter cam?) would i keep up with 06's?

The 06's have higher compression,better suspension,longer chasis,fcr carb,different gearing and (in my opinion) run alot better/stronger than the04/05's.But I do agree with everyone else...GET A KICKER!!!!. I've riddin some 05's and i like my 06's power alot better for the woods MUCH smoother power delivery.But alot bigger balls.

oh yea 06 has the 13t front sprocket where 05 has a 14t but thats a easy change

Ya an 05 with a high comp piston and full HRC kit or even just a cam would murder and 06.
