First off I pick up my new LTR on thursday, I am pretty stoked.

Now, I am looking into picking up a bike for my girlfriend. She has very little experience riding. What bikes do you thing would be a good one for her? What bikes do your significant others have? We will primarily be riding trails, but there will be a bunch of trips down to the Oregon dunes. We are looking at a Honda TRX250EX. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rick

My GF started on a 250ex as well and now she rides a KFX400.

The trusty old honder 400EX, perfect for her, you can find them in good condition for under $3500. Then if your bike ever goes off line, you can still kind of have fun riding hers.

Thanks for the input. Do you all think it would be worth just going for a 400? Chances are she wont be riding as much as I will so the bike will stay in good shape for a long time. I am thinking if she gets bored riding a 250 then I will have to buy a another bike for her too soon. Any thoughts?

Thanks

I agree completly with baracudaaa, I thnk the 400 would be a perfect fit. I agree the honda 250ex is a great bike for woman/beginners, but it is also a quad she could out grow fast. With the 400 if she wants for power you could hop it up for her or you. Plus they are cheap!!!!

i agree with the 400 completely, the 400 isn't too fast that she would struggle riding it, and she most likely won't outgrow it if you do a few mods down the road. 250 would be good for mabey a year but she is bound to outgrow it.

Even if she only rides a little bit every year, the 250 will get outgrown very fast. The 400EX is soooooo user friendly, she will love it, plus the parts are super cheap if you break or want to upgrade something.

My wife had no experience riding at all and wanted an automatic. we got the kfx 700 she likes it but it kinda controls her rather than her controling the quad
