View Full Version : where? and how much for cylinder boring

my 416 piston should be here today and i need to get my cylinder bored. the local auto machine shop wants 60 and the quad place wants 65. this seems really high for a just a bore and hone?

Thats About Right.... At Least Thats What I & Buddies Have Paid In The Past, The Cheapest I Have Found Around Here Was $50.... But For $10 More I Will Trust the Place With A Good Reputation.

they have a really good rep for auto parts, just seeing if that was the "NORM"

i paid 65 to have the cylynder broed on my recon so thats about right

that has a quad shop and he bores and hones for $35 bucks

Holy crap where do u guys live!!?? I have a machine shop by my house that charges $30. And i have NEVER heard anyone talk bad about these guys. They do a **** of a job!! Garunteeed the best around the area, and its almost half the price u guys pay? Ide tell them so sucka lemon

65 to much ? do you know how much mills and lathes cost? **** im still saving up for a cheap one at 3K
letalone, the skill to do it properly, and all the other accessorys you have to buy.
