Yes, there is a pretty big difference. Mostly in the handling.

the lt's dont have any rake (tilt) on the front a-arms and the trx does. i would assume that the no rake front end would make for a much rougher ride the the trx. the lt is faster though

the biggest difference is handleing. but there are some minor things like the lt has no stock frt. bumper(the frame is the bumper, or at least on early years), on the earlier models there is only a single reed on the reed valve instead of 2 like most bikes, the exhaust prot on the earlier years comes out of the cylinder at an angle to clear the straight up frame rail and on later year the motor has a reed valve w/2 reed on it instead of one, the frame rails in front of the motor are split apart so the exhaust port comes straight out, the chain adjuster sucks campaired to hondas. the frame dont just crack after some trail abuse they literally split in half(well a guy who i know, his did) i cant think of anymore right now i got the flu and im going to bed

I had a '91 lt and still have an '88. I think their great but after selling the 99 for a 400ex I'll never go back. I'd take the lt over the trx because it's cheaper and easier to find one that hasn't been abused racing.

lt are junk in my opinion but some people like em, i just see lots of problems with them

main difference is in handling and the chain adjuster. Also the rake. Could i have a job jeff? lol

lt's are slightly more powerfull, this is due to a stock powervalve,
when people get bigger bored 250rs, like a 310, or 330 kit they normally throw a powervalve in. the lt. is also not as good as handleing stock to stock. i rebuilt my lt. and i dont like how there built, just the things suzuki did to manufacture them i didnt care for, like how the front bumer bolts on, and how the grabbar is huge and supports the rear fenders, also the swingarm/chain adjustment is a joke.

I'll take a Tecate 250 over a TRX250R. And I'll take a TRX250R over an LT250R.
