bit confused on 400ex footpegs jus going to lower mine and thought i would do a search on footpegs but got a bit confused as all the pic's i have seen the footpeg is on on mine which is a 2002 i have ac nerfbars with foot pegs welded to them and they slot onto 1" tubes that are mounted where the pegs normaly bolt to is this right is it only on some years that the pegs are one or has someone bolted after market ones on

Sounds like you have AC propeg nerfs. Standard nerfs bolt up to the stock footpeg but the propegs like you have slide over a tube at the footpeg mount and have the footpeg integrated with the nerf. It is not a certain years type of thing, it is what makes propegs propegs :p

You can mount different pegs like 450R pegs or IMS/Roll pegs but those will only work with standard nerfs.

well looks like tomorrow (9.30pm here) i will be fabricating
new nerfbar mounts lower just incase i dont like the lowered pegs and i can bolt the old ones back on between races this weekend
