hey guys, i am building a new motor right now and the focus is on low end to midrange power. I ride trails and the dunes. Very seldome do i really race where i want tons of top end power. Tony kellner is setting me up with the motor and i have not asked him about the pipe. But what are your ideas for the pipe, i have an fmf on there right now but i dont really like it. Thinking about the paul turner national midrange race, trx 6 esr pipe, or maybe a CT but not sure on the CT. Let me know what you think and if anyone has one they want to get rid of, i might be interested.

Get the ESR center mount. It's sweeeet!!
It mounts inside your subframe and it's shorter.

LRD or ESR TRX5. You will be happier with an all-around pipe to accomodate the power demand difference in the type of riding you do . Besides, you can also play with the gearing to customize your bike to the particular terrain you are going to ride on.

yeah i was going to talk to tony later this week or beginning to next. I just dont really like the FMF fatty that i have on there right now and that is with a basically stock motor. I know that it wont really be good when i build the motor up. I will look for an LRD maybe but from everything i hear, that sparks is an awesome pipe. If you know anyone who wants to get rid of one let me know. But i will talk to tony too and see what he says.

I just saw those tt pipes on ebay. Would that be a good pipe for woods and dunes. I am sure it is way better than the FMF. But i know there was also a MX pipe from sparks as well. Which should I look for?

The Sparks TT is a mid and up pipe. It is a bad *** pipe for sure. If you want lowend the Sparks MX would be a better choice. Its a 2 stroke though, not much lowend to be had. Wide open and fan the clutch bud.

 if you build it right, you can have plenty of bottom end power.......

so that is not a bad pipe? Is it much better than the FMF? probably a dumb question. Or would I be better off buying a paul turner midrange race pipe.

During my moto-x years I ran the Paul Turner type 6 and Fat Boy silencer and loved it.

You can not go wrong with a Paul turner 89 Race pipe, Sparks MX or LRD B pipe. All would be tremendous pipes for your application!! These 3 are by far the best you can get. If you were looking for mid-top then Paul Turner Eliminator or Sparks TT would be best!!! I would use a 37 PJ carb for low to mid and a 38 or 39 Keihen for a mid to top carb!
Good Luck,
Doc

Reguardless of what pipe you deside to get, be sure to tell who ever your getting the pipe from, your cylinder port degree numbers so they can match up the pipe to the cylinder porting.

If & when you tell them (the seller) those port numbers & they dont know what your talking about, walk away, because they dont have a clue what you need or what they are selling.

Choosing a pipe, its not looks that gets the job done.
A 2 stroke racing engine should be considered as one big piece from the carb inlet bell all the way through the cylinder to the place where the stinger welds on to the pipe at the last cone.

If it all dont match up, you wont see the full power the engine could have.

ok guys, I just got off the phone with tony and he said just what you thought. Get the LRD but I dont really like the almost $600 price tag. I like all of your opinions but what pipe is similar to the LRD adjustable? Or is the LRD worth the 600 bucks? I really needs help
