does 26 oz. in the engine and 18 oz. in the transmission sound right? for an 05 450r.

i did a search and came up with nothing???

the stupid manual has the amounts listed in like .58 and .86 or whatever....

did I convert these to oz. correctly? I got that warning in the mail on the transmission about not using the oil check bolt hole anymore!!! want to get this right!!

TIA

I didn't get the notice as I have an 05 and its probably about the 06. But I'm guessing that Honda is telling you to fill the trans by volume and not by using the check bolt?

yeah it would be nice if they put it in the manual in plain english.

like maybe a half quart or pint or something instead of .56 or .86:grr:

I got some mainteance info in the mail a while back saying it is best not to use the service manual method of refilling the transmission and rather just use a measuring cup.

To answer your conversion question:

827cc = 28oz = .875 quarts = .827 liters
532cc = 18oz = .562 quarts = .532 liters

I put 650cc's in the tranny side though. Thats how much it takes to bring it up to the check bolt.
