I have an 04' 450r and it has sat for a while since I havent had any money or time to ride it with being away at school and building a car. The quad sat in my garage since august 2006 with out being started. When i put it away i ran it out of gas, im not sure if that was a mistake and mabey should have filled the tank and put in a stabilizer. Well now it doesnt start, I tried to start it a few times over the last week just kicking it over and over and getting nothing. Every thing checks out ok as in im getting spark and fuel. It just wont fire. It also has good compression. The last time I rode it I had recently installed a Hotcams stage 2 cam and it over heated that last time riding. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Im guessing my valves may have tightened up from installing the cam even though they checked out fine on the install. Tight valves may have caused the overheating. Any how, im open to all suggestions, i wanna ride the thing again, Im guessing im gonna have to rip it down again.:ermm:

heres a pic of what Ive been spending my money on

Even though you said you ran it out of gas, did you drain the float?
Could still varnish up and stop it from starting.

99% of the time stuff not starting after sitting for a long time is in the carb.

He said he ran it out of gas before he put it away, probably means theres fresh gas in it =)
