Powdercoating something that's been chromed?

Can you do it? Is it the same as blasting off old powder?

Or does it have to be re-chromed?

the proper way is to have the chrome removed almost in the reverse fashion that it was applied. then it can be prepped and coated.

unfortunatly, not many place will remove chrome plating, including me.

if the chrome is in good shape then it can be etched with media prep and coated but its a gamble. ive done alot of this and most hold up fine, some havent. the pc job is only going to be as good as the chrome underneath.
