View Full Version : my310 vs brothers 450r

Well I finally raced my brothers piped 450r with my esr310. my bike has v-force reeds, 38mm a/s card, esr310 trx9 port, esr mid range pipe, k&n filter, and jansen super coil. My brother’s bike is an 04 with jet and hmf full exhaust. We raced on black top about 150-200 yards. The 450r pulled hard out of the hole but by 3rd gear the 250r was pulling and starting to pass. By the end my 250r had about a min 20ft lead or 1 full car length. My brother is a better rider so if we switched seats it probably would have been 2 car lengths min. Any way, we got a Athena 480 big bore kit, hot cam stage 2 cam, kibble white valve set with valves, dyna tech non programmable (will order this week), and the cylinder will go to rage racing for port and polish. After this we’ll race and I’m sure the 450 will win so then I’ll send my top end to neil for port and polish and install my dyna fs and ricky stator fly wheel. who should win after this?????

Hey man i like both 450's and 250's but i like my 450 for mx and 250 for sand and trails and drag...Sounds like you guys had a real competive race goin on so how old are you and your brother?

yeah frame is stock w/ blue pc..... we mostly ride spring creek when the both have the weeknd off work and in crosby by banna bend or off 90. then we try to make it out to alto once or twice a year.

Easy way to tell is from the square tubing for the frame. Square=stock.

Sounds like a pretty close race, i would have thought the 310 would have won by a little more, but oh well. I think after all of those mods he does, he's going to win by a long shot. Big bore, probably higher compression, cam, port/polish...he'd be doing a lot more to his bike to make it go fast than you would. i dont think a port and polish of yours is going to make up for it.

I suppose if it really comes down to it, you could kick him in the balls before the race, that should distract him enough.

have neil really port your cylindr, should make a huge difference from esr's porting.

the only 450R I've ridden was when Dee was doing the R&D for John's motor. That sucker was fast!! Had a real hard hit just like a 2 stroke and would stand up the front in the middle of a power slide ..... but wasnt impressive enough for me to get rid of my R's :devil:

I thought spring creek was a bust, i hear about people getting tickets all the time now... whats banna bend? never heard of it, crosby is fairly close. Ever been to the little mx track in Huffman?

banna bend is right by the lil mx track in crosby its on the san jac. river its a cool spot with a beach and a lot of jet skis.... we have a place there so we're out there like every other weekend in the summer. spring creek had two parks the first one off the hardy is still open but you can't cross the creek but there is still some beach for drag races and a lot of trails are still there. the other spot you could cross.... not supposed to but not really enforced. you could ride in one direction for hours.... but it just closed down not long ago.
