I'm looking to put a working brake light on my R like the newer quads with active brake light - like cars.

Does anybody know the details of adding
a rear brake light setup to the 250R

What parts do I need and how do they hook up?

250Renvy,
To add a brake light to your r is easy, you just need a switch from one of the off road dirt bikes, it will replace the banjo bolt in your master cylinder, next wire it into the power wire for the tailight and run a wire for the stop light. the 250r stock tail only has one element, so you'll have to switch the socket or get a different tailight off of a newer quad and wire the stop switch to it. I'm not sure if you can put another light base in an r light or not to get the second element. This is one of those projects I want to do to but haven't gotten around to it yet. I have added the switch to several of my dirtbikes over the years and I usually use a ktm brakelight switch, About$30. Bikes are a little easier to wire because they already have a dual element bulb for the stop. good luck and i hope this helps.
