What sproket is the best for improving low-end grunt, but doesn't lose too much speed? Approximately, how much speed will I lose if I go with a 13 tooth sproket on say, a 2004 trx 400? Thanks

you will lose alot of top end with a 13. stock on an 04 is 15, so dropping 2 teeth is huge. most only go down 1 tooth, to a 14. personally that is even to low, so i went up only 1 tooth in the the rear (1 tooth up front is equal to 2-3 out back) for woods riding. for wide fields and an open track i go up to a 16 up front.

Did you have to add a link to the chain to fit the 16 tooth up front or did she just go right on with a small adjustment to the carrier?
