Are revalved stock rear shocks worth it? Or is it better to just go ahead and get aftermarket? Also are shocks with resovoirs that much better than the ones without?

If your not racing hardcore MX or XC a stock revalved rear shock will probably be more than you need. I was running a stock rear on mine, and it handled good, with a re-valve it would have been great.

it will be on the track but not much. Mostly just having fun around the house with the bike.

i will be jumping this quad a lot though. Start off on dirt ramps then move to metal since my parents have 10 acres of land, ill have enough room to do this.

I ran a Baldwin stock revalve for years racing XC, it was well worth the money, comparable to a higher priced aftermarket shock.

If you don't have to spend a ton of money.. buy a good used one on or ebay or do what alot of people do and get the dual rate zps spring added to the stock shock and revalved by elka

ill gladly buy an elka or PEP or Works, custom axis etc. rear shocks, even front shocks. I was curious if it was just as good to buy a stock rear shock or just go aftermarket

it seems as if you want an aftermarket...so buy one.thats 600-900 out of your pocket. a stocker with a revalve with a spring is around 200. your choice. 450r fronts work pretty good for me.

i dont mind buying aftermarket ones, just if a stock one is good enough for launching this bike pretty good distance then ill stick with a stock one. Will the 450r shocks bolt straight up to 250r a-arms and frame?

im pretty sure...they are on my bike! they will raise the front about an inch.firm yet nice.compression, rebound, preload, and rebuildable. probably be perfect with +2 arms. the reservoirs are turned forward on mine to clear the shrouds im using.now to get the rears revalvedfor my weight and a spring.:D
