im only 14 and i was thinking...do yoou think i should by the conversion and make my 400 the way i want, or keep saving my money for a 85cc dirtbike...im 5,5 112lbs..I been saving a while, ive got 1200, but, i cant modify my engine or put a pipe on it, dad's rules when he bout it on a great deal (03 model hardly used just sat 1800$

Well it depends on what you like to ride, if you feel more comfortable on the atv then I would keep it and buy the conversion but if you think you are more comfortable on the bike then get it. That stinks that you cant do nothin with the atv. If you plan on going into racing to though the bike is the better way because it is cheaper. But on my opinion I would never switch from my atv.

ok...i'll put my money in the quad, and to tell u the truth, ive only ridden one 85, that was my friends, and i have no experience on them, i just thought i would by one and learn to ride, around here there are more ppl with bikes than quads, on the results for the oak hill race in texas my friend(who is 19-20) got 3rd place in the open c class and i ride with him alot

You have to make the top mount narrower, but other than that, it just bolts right on.

Im running the stock shock in the back, but I want to get it revalved sono.

Not that well at all. I primed them and put like 4 coats on too. It was not a big deal cause they were new so oh well. I ride mostly rocky trails so just about everything gets trashed.

Just wondering, your signature says 1999 400ex, has no 2003, or 2005 in there, and im guessing the 2003 (pink) wouldn't be yours. So did you take your '99 and put '05 plastics on it?

Man I like it. U can get the head pipes ceramic coated. Which I should have done. But, the sounds is good. People say it sounds like a helicopter when its idling. Not god awful loud like a Big Gun pipe by any means.

As far as performance. Before I had the FMF full titanium exhaust. Powerbomb header, midpipe, and the Titanium 4 muffler on it. It was quite loud. As far as i no I didnt loose any performance from the swamp. But also dont know if I gained any. I would have to say it stayed the same. i just thought it looked really awesome and u dont see hardly any quads w/ them.

Basically, I am just as pleased w/ it as the FMF.
