dyno results

Hey everyone, am wondering what my 06 450 makes for HP and TORQUE from the factory? I just got my 450 out of the shop
I had a VENOM port done on the head,
and a STAGE 2 hotcam put in. it made
39.63 hp and 28.55 torque. that was on a dynojet just wondering if it gained much.

Let me start off by saying that I'm posting not to bash or put your build down, but to honestly address your questioning....

I read your questioning in this thread, and the many patterns of negative gains from the Venom devils plague on its victims has sickened me. Many ppl have started coming out with postings of dyno graphs that actually go backward from stock, as yours has too. sorry.

A ported head with HC2 cam on a dynojet dyno should be making more power than a stock 06 at 39/32... a dyno can be seen in the dyno section way back last year.... do a search for Mobile Dyno posting an 06 trx 450r and he'll show what a stock 06 is making on his Dynojet dyno... If you can't find it, let me know and I'll post one.


To me, it sounds like you should take the loss in money spent on that port job and go with something proven to perform.

Was that with knobbies or dyno tires? What about intake and exhaust mods?

Seems like I'm used to seeing ~39HP & ~29TQ for a stock 06 TRX450R on most Dynojet dynamometers. They can vary though. I did do a quick search and found a "bone stock" 06 dyno'd by Venom that registered 39.69HP & 28.93TQ.

It's tempting (but precarious) to read too much into the numbers when they're in isolation. Without having your bike dynoed before the mods were performed it's hard to say with any certainty what you did or did not gain. You've got to have something from the same dyno to use as a reference.

If you don't have a baseline for your bike then ask the dyno operator for guidence on how your #s compare to others on his dyno. That's not as good as your own baseline but maybe he's tested a stock 06 TRX450R, or another one that has similar mods to yours. If he can tell you that most stock 06 450rs are makeing 40 & 30 on his dyno or most cam'd and head work'd 06 450rs are making 46 & 33 on his dyno--well, you may have some investigating to do.

the dyno run was done on dyno tires. it feels way faster. when racing stock 06 and 07 450's up the valley for those of you that ride at little Sahara in utah i put buslengths on them so... anyway thanks for the posts.

sorry the exhaust is factory just removed the spark arrestors the airbox has been completely removed and it has a k&n filter
