computer question

ok, so my computer has been doing this for a long time. it has no sound on any thing but windows mediaplayer. anything like youtube, or anything anybody posts on here or anywhere else on the internet never has sound. i have adobe, java.... what am i missin'? thanx in advance.

sounds like your sound drivers are hosed..


what sound card/processor do you have?

or if you bought the PC pre-assembled..

what make and model of PC do you have?

we have a Dell Dimension 3000.

I have the same computer, try this go the the Control Panel and where it says sounds and audio devices click that. Once your in there there should be another little screen that should pop up, half way down there should be a little box and next to it it should say Mute is this checked? if not thats good. Before that there is a volume slider that you can move is this on Low?

ok, i looked at the control panel and in the box above it, it says there is no sound device, but the speakers work. they work with windows media player, but nothing on the net.

thats a link to the sound driver for the dimension 3000 from Dell's site.

download the driver and run the file. windows should do the rest..

youll probably need to reboot for the sound to work..
