quad for under/around $1000 300ex/250x

when i say around, i don't mean 2000. maybe 1500, but nothing really more than that.

i'm looking for preferably a 300ex/250x with some little things done to it (tires, exhaust, etc.), 250r, or maybe a blaster if it's nice. had one once, would rather try something else.

i just picked up a 90 suzuki lt250r will let it go for 800$

my freind has a 1991 250x.Needs some motor work.It does run.
I think he wants around 800.
