I haven't done any searching on this topic but the other day I was on it pretty hard in 3rd gear and went to 4th and it was like it went in neutral.Has anyone else experienced this?It only did it one time.

This is on an '06 with very few hours on it.

I had that problem between 4th and 5th gear but mine was a power problem.I had too much power for the stock clutch.the trany is fine another thing i noticed is if you just hit the shifter it will seem like you are hitting neutral.

What engine modds do you have?

It is all stock internally.Just a cherry bomb/baffle out/air box lid off.

Yes - mine did the same thing between 3rd and 4th. Only happened once, but it was very weird.

If I don't give it a good solid shift mine can and has popped out on me.

This happens on the Hondas, I know on my honda, being there is two separate compartments for oil, switching to the 90W helped some, but it still does it.

Move the shifter up one notch. That seems to have limited the jumping out of gear on my son's LTR. My brother-in-law still has his in the stock position and complains about that alot.

I think it gets hit more in the stock position while riding and jumps out of gear. Then again that's just my opinion.

It's not from being hit, it is while you are shifting gears. I know on my honda it can happen in any gear but most frequently between 2nd and 3rd, and 3rd and 4th. I will shift, hit the gas, the engine will rev up like its in neutral, let off the gas, and then hit the throttle again and its in gear like it never happened.

Mine did the same thing started out just once in a while and kept getting worse. come to find out 3rd gear had a tooth broken off, the case was broken at the shift pin mod you can do. And the shift pins and forks wear out. this is an 06 with a few hours and on it and i raced mx with it. my buddy had some of the same problems with his

Did anyone who got the shift pin relocator fix notice a difference? I've gotten the false neutral a couple of times, usually when going from 3rd to 4th, but at Mototown the other night it happened going into 3rd and I was having some weird shifting irregularities. I'm going to have my sponsor put it in for me, but I didn't know if it would actually make a difference.

Thanks!

The shift pin fix doesn't help false neutrals in anyway since it doesn't affect the mechanics of the tranny at all really. You put the relocator bracket in to fix or prevent the cases from breaking.

^^^^^^^
That's exactly what my mechanic said. But I saw people on here claiming that it helped the false neutral problem and wanted to know if it ACTUALLY helped now that it's been a month or so since the posts. Thank you for the verification :)

I've got the shift pin mod in mine but it still will jump a gear every now and then. I've been using the clutch to shift from 3rd to 4th and it seems to stop the problem. Mine wouldn't hit neutral from 3rd to 4th it would just kick back down to 3rd gear. I'm pretty sure all the LTR's will hit neutral going back down from 2nd to 1st. Try changing you gear a little and see if you can stay out of 1st gear all together. I'm currently running a 13/37 and that even helped my 3rd to 4th issues a little, don't know why but it did?

BossHogg go to www.LTR450H Q.com and do a search, but when you enter the website take out the space between the H and the Q. There is a ton of info on there.
