How much of the front plastic do you cut off when installing a Quad Tech hood?

I think the Quad Tech goes all the way to the tip of the nose on 99-04....

Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken...

I'm pretty sure it goes to the end of the nose too.

So cut the whole nose off? LOL no the hood goes on top of the nose, you just may want to cut a square peice where the vent is on the hood...

Other than that it just should bolt right up...

All you have to do is chop off the upper portion of the plastic that houses the lights and key switch. The hood then goes on top of the plastic. Putting a hole in the plastic under the scoop to make it functional is up to you.

You can use the 400EX or the 250R QT hood. The 450R one is tiny in comparison.

The one on mine in the pic above is the 400ex one. not a 250r one. you have to call quad tech or one of their dealers to get it. its just not on the site. I just bought mine about 6 mos ago and it wasn't on the site either.

How much did it cost you? shipping and all.

I don't think quad tech makes them for 99-04 400ex anymore. If you can find one grab it. but they are expensive 180.00.

you could buy one from quadtech, or you could go on ebay and look up a place called "carbon depot" he makes copies of the quadtech one at a fraction of the cost, I got one from him and you cant tell the dirreance between it and the QT one, it cost me £82 to my door and that included shipping to the UK.
