What's up. Here's the problem. Last March, I bought my buddies MX 250R. It's totally modded out. The only things stock on it are pretty much the radiator and the frame. The frame had cracked again so I stopped riding it. It has sat in my garage since then. I found a dirt cheap 450R at the time and used that instead. Now it doesn't start. It used to start, first kick every time. The plugs not fouled, I checked that already. It's getting gas, but maybe I didn't shake the quad enough to mix it. And it's hard to kick over now. I didn't check for spark yet, so I'll let ya know on that one in a bit. The motor is a '89, if that makes a difference. Thanks for your replies in advance. I want to have two quads to ride on again. :D :( Red

Yeh man, if that gas has sat in the tank for I've seen more than 2 weeks and you don't use Stabil, you carb could be gummed, up, clean that out.

And maybe it just seems harder than kickin over your 450, so you think it kicks harder cuz the 450 kicks easier.

And I wouldn't have went out and bought a 450, I would have just went to my uncles and got the frame welded and been out the next day, but thats just me.

happened on my cousins r as well except for when we welded his frame back up it fired. Its like a grounding source or something

Did you have the frame welded already?? If you did, was the cdi disconnected proir to the frame welded?? You can burn out the cdi, by welding the frame with the cdi connected. I had 2 250r's that wouldn't start, it was the flywheel key, it shifted place and put the timing way off.

The first thing you should do is drain the gas tank, put in new gas, and clean out the carb. Thats a given. If it still doesn't start check for spark.

ya clean your carb and check your plug
