the slide out is all electric, jus a switch of a button..

it had a built in generator, its VERY quiet. everything runs of the 12volt battery and the propane other than the air conditioning and the microwave.

http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p16/jrp859/slideout.jpg
stereo and generator starter button...
http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p16/jrp859/stereosystem.jpg

this is the microwave, the oven/stove is right below it, and on the opposite side is the refrigerator...

now that is sweet. any idea on how much it weighs? it kinda stinks having to tent camp after 100 miles of riding in a day because we cant tow our camper and the quads. after being in scouts all of my life im tired of sleeping on the ground!

You might as well start looking for a 3/4 ton truck..... I don't care what the dealer says...... That trans in that Escalade will end up toast.... Nice camper though.....

especially in the moutains on the east coast... tow ratings are for empty base vehicles with only a driver, how often do any of us tow completely empty? and an escalade is definitely no base vehicle

thanks justin! yea its really nice to have!
dan: im not plannin on getting kicked out hahahaha

everyone else.... this trailer weighs 6 thousand pounds, the escalade is rated at 8100. this trailer is specifically made for 1/2 ton suvs or trucks. we have a 1400lb weight distribution and everything. On the trip yesterday through danville, there are tons of mountains. we kept it under 60 and the escalade never got above 3k rpms. so i dont think its that much of a strain, but thanks for all the compliments!

I don't care what they say it will pull.... I've got a 3/4 ton GMC and I pull an 8x20 enclosed with 3-4 quads, tools, spare tires, and 2-3 people.... You'll find out.... Just wait for a trip to Breezewood.... You'll see then......

its a sick rig, ill give you that. but id rather put money into the quad and stay in a tent. thats just me i guess. if it was your parents' decision to buy it and not because you asked them, then i guess its a pretty good deal

I feel ya pappy with the dodge deisel. I don't know if you saw mine at breezewood. I have a dodge ram 3500 turbo diesel dually manual. Its hard to tow my 24 foot inclosed trailer on steep hills.

yea i know, ive been there plenty of times, ill be up there may 5th n 6th.

doober: yea it wasnt my decision. me and my dad were more than happy with a 20ft enclosed trailer, but my mom said she would rather have that so she can cook, hang out, and sleep rather than do nothing in a enclosed trailer:rolleyes: lol. so we ended up with this.

We used to tow a trailer almost exact to that, with a 2004 f-150 short bed regular cab. It had the power to do it, but the truck was almost too light, and the trailer would push it around. This is fully loaded with tools, dozens of spare tires and rims, tv setup with all the goodies and 4 quads with full gear. It was def a gas hog though. Loading the quads into the trailer very balanced helped tremendously. We would drive one in, the one behind it, then put two side by side in the very back of the trailer.

I totally agree. The wind drag hurts you as much as the weight when towing. Start saving for a diesel.

Wait till you have to go down a mountain towing that behind you in that caddy, it'll enough to make you put a brown strip in your boxers.. :chinese:
