Will a 88 crank shaft and piston fit in my 86 I just blew up. All Stock. I heard the 88 shaft was longer or somthing like that.

yes it'll work. you'll need to run the 87-89 piston with the 87-89 crank. the 87-89 crank has a longet rod.

You are correct, the 88 crank had a longer connecting rod, longer by 5mm. But the 88 piston is a different style, the rod and pin mount 5mm deeper in the piston.

The piston isn't necessarily "shorter" in the literal sense, because the skirt is still the same length. But the pin is deeper, so it's effectively shorter by 5mm when it's connected to the crank. So the rod is 5mm longer, but the piston is 5mm shorter, so the overall length stays the same.

As long as you use the 88 style piston with the 88 rod, it will fit and work just fine inside your 86 motor.
