Would running 110 octane in a 400ex with just a pipe, jetted, and filter, cause a major lose in power? I was wondering maybe is the 110 just to high of octane for it to burn? If not any ideas why it wouldnt have anypower? carbs clean filters fine!!

I don't think it's the fuel. Check your valves?Start small and work up.How's the jetting? Are you getting any backfiring? If so when(Accel/Decel) Your engine just won't use all the octain. Try some 93 octain and see how it does. Maybe just bad gas.

It is harder to burn and makes starting harder. If you are using it on stock compression and stock timing you are wasting a butt load of money, it could hinder performance as different fuels often require different jetting. Stick with pump gas.

well the fuel will change your jetting. you have to jet for the fule you are gonna run. some race fuels will cause a rich condition, making your bike feel less powerful and want to bog. other fuels wil cause it to lean out, causing it to run hot. sound to me like the particular fuel you are running is causing a rich condition. go back to 93, no reason to run 110 in a stock 400.
