So I got a set of tusk front brake pads for my 400ex and when i mounted the caliper back up there was a pretty good sized gap between the mount on the caliper and the spindle. The pads were just too thick. Has anyone else had this problem?

No, mine mounted up perfect. Do you have the right ones? Check the item number.

I had the same kinda problem when I replace my rear pads. Take the caliper and clean it out good. the piston probably isn't going all the way in or something. If the pads say they are for a 400ex then they'll fit a 400ex.

No they're pads definetely are thicker. I just recently replaced all the brake pads on my EX and I had the exact same problems. I actually had to make a spacer gasket for the p/b block off in the rear because the pads were so thick there was a gap between the block off plate and the caliper.
