You can get it to work but it is a pain in the butt. It does not bolt rite on.

RobbsRacing, Can you explain why its hard. I have a 2000 trx90 and wanted to put the 2006 plastics on. Thanks

The newer style has a different gas tank and seat. So without those modifications I don't think it will work.

i put the new style plastic on my o4 trx90 and all i did was get all of the brackets and seat and tank for the new style plastic and the only mods that i had to do was on the mounting of the seat where the 2 studs under the seat go down threw the frame they are closer together then the 04 frame holes are so i welded up the old holes and took a hole saw and re-drilled new ones for the new seat and it looks like a 06 had it all done in a hour or less very up-grade everything else just bolts into place

I guess If you dont have to play by ATVA/WPSA rules it would be alot easier. Welding on the frame to facilitate mounting of the new style plastic is a no no according to there rules. As stupid as it is you CANNOT do that by there rules. I had a LONG talk with Doug Morris at ATVA before I did it to Robbies bike. If your series allows welding to the frame it would be a piece of cake.

The seat is shorter so the front mount needs to be moved back an inch or two and the tank mounts differently in the rear which also needs to be adressed. There are other small details. IMO its a pain. Robbie's new quad has 05 plastic.

i didnt see about the tank prob. not saying it isnt diff. but in my upgrade it mounted up easy with no problems and if you dont want to weld on the frame you can just drill the holes inward and leave the other holes in their they will not bother anything and the seat will fit just fine because that what i did . and iam no expert this is the only 1 that i have done just tring to share info thanks

Thanks RR and Bracey. I dont think there is a difference in the '04 and the '00. Bracey, what exactly are you welding to the frame ? Thanks

as you can see i didnt weld on my frame i just redrilled the holes in closer for the new style seat but i think that someone could weld either a new seat mount in or weld the holes up and redrill them in the correct spot as far as the rules someone would have to be very petty to complain on that and my question is if you cant weld on the frame what do you do if it breaks i see people welding on frames at every nat. that i have been at but again this is just my opinion thanks

Welding is allowed to repair the frame, gussetts to strengthen the frame and nerf bars. Thats about it. Dont get me wrong I totally agree that it is stupid to not be able to weld brackets to mount different bodywork, but the rules are the rules. If someone cant beat you out on the track they will try to beat you with petty details trust me.

I just bought a used 98' or 99' TRX 90. The seat is torn and the plastic is a little rough. Otherwise, it appears to be in pretty good shape.

If I am going to replace the seat and plastic anyway, I might as well make it an 06'. Am I right in thinking this would work on a 98'? From what I can tell these bikes were the same from 1993 to 2004.

Wow! This may be more than I want to spend.

My local Honda dealer quoted me the following for 06' TRX 90 parts:

front left fender 76.00
front right fender 76.00
bottom plastic by foot peg 55.00
bottom plastic by foot peg 55.00
rear fender 245.00
seat 210.00
gas tank 177.00

That totals almost 900.00. The seat and gas tank surprised me because I bought a seat for my TRX 300 a couple of years ago and it was only around 80.00.

Does anyone know where to get these parts cheaper? Bracey, do you still have any of your 04' parts that you would want to get rid of?

Thanks

The bike is currently red, so I guess I would need to replace everything in black. What year and what pieces do you have?
