I have a '98 300EX and you know that little o-ring on the end of the gas tank breather hose, well I lost it  . IS this an important piece or is it ok to run it without it?

SOunds like you lost yours too :D Anyways, one the end of the breather hose that attaches to the gas tank cap, there is a little metal gold ring around the hose. But since you replaced yours and a new one doesn't have it either, than I guess I am ok, right.

Your fine, all that little gold ring on the hose does is keeps it tight on the gas cap. Its fine without it i took mine off,And the tube never came out once.

300EX_Man- So you lost yours on the trip home? Note to self-when trasporting bike, take hose off so I don't lose it. :D
So basically for everyday riding around my neck of the woods, this ring has nothing to do with functionality??
Thanks alot guys!!
all it does is keeps the hose from falling off. U dont need it.
