Well heres what I found under my stator cover. Once I clean it up what should I use to stop the rust?

One of my past Rs had the same thing happen. I just cleaned it up real good and hosed it down with WD40. Seemed to work fine. I also made sure I sealed up that side cover real good to keep more water from getting in. I would also us some heat resistant silicone and seal around the electrical wires that exit the top of the side cover. I suspect that is the source of water getting in alot of times.

I never even thought of the space where the wires enter. Its hard to see but there is a big space and water could get in there for sure. Thanks!
