Ticking all the time!!

I have a 2000 ex and it ticks from the time I start it till the time I shut it off. The ticking is pretty loud. I was told it could be the cam but not sure. Any thoughts???

Whens the last time you adjusted your valves? If you have a Cam in your cam that will make it tick alittle louder than normal.

It is a stock cam. The motor has never had any kind of mods done to it.

Forgot to mention that I have never adjusted the valves. Bought it used about 3 months ago. Not sure if they have ever been adjusted, Thanks
