well thats pretty much it. i would like to organize a big ride for thanksgiving weekend. i fugure this is enought time for eveybody to make plans. i have several ppl i work with going. im not going to beable to make the one the 12-13 of oct:mad: damn military contracts. somone that has been there will have to help with a meetin place and such. prolly meet there friday somtime and ride till sunday for us hard core riders. ;) others can come and go as they please. i know there are a lot of riders from so nevada and so cal., so lets make this BIG. mainly so us westerners will have somthin to rub in the faces of the easterners:eek: .

L.Vegas, as you know Thanksgiving is a BIG weekend at Glamis.... Might be tough finding a place for everybody to camp together or to find each other withthe crowds.

Have you considered an off-weekend instead?

Personally, my one Glamis trip is going to be MLK weekend in January - Four Stroke Wars!!!

Yeah it would be awesome to get together on thanksgiving, but WYO has a good point about actually finding a spot to put a huge camp. The group that i usually go with has 20ppl in it alone so it would be tuff.Just because its an off weekend doesnt mean that we cant stay for 2 or 3 days, or we could even try to go on a different holiday weekend when we can see plenty of "stuff" but can still find a spot to camp. later, Brad.

We are going the weekend before Thanksgiving that might be a better time. I have heard anywhere between 40,000 and 200,000 people on thanksgiving. It would be a Zoo.
We camp at Roadrunner campground located at the end of Gecko road. That might be the place to meet on any other weekend.
Let me know

Since I dont' visit the dunes,,,don't them big mobile homes get stuck in the sand,,it seems like they would sink in the crap..please enlighten me since I've never been dune riding..but I will soon..:D

Str8Wicked
10-30-2002, 09:37 AM
I've never seen one stuck, but I've never seen any deep off the road eithier. I'm sure if you took them deep into the sand they would definitly sink. Most people camp on Gecko Road so the RV's are safe their...

If you lower the tire pressure to 15-20 lbs you can drive anything on the sand.

Well it all depends.... If it's four wheels drive than yes. If it's two wheel you better be hauling some series *** to stay up with out sinking....

Someone come up to Oregon and pick me up! I wanna go to Glamis too! I'll even bring Tequila, and BEER! HAHA
Too bad I have to work that weekend, otherwise I'd be headed down there too. Someone could stage a kidnapping though.....hehe, j/k.

Lower tire pressure? LOL....I drove my mom's 2WD '92 Ranger out on the sand at Florence once, never lowered the pressure one bit. Just haulled *** out to camp and hoped that everyone could keep up cause there wasn't any way I was letting off to let someone catch up. It was leaving camp later that weekend that was the hard part, had to be towed by an Xterra.

Glamis is a whole different story...

ThorChick
11-19-2002, 04:14 PM
I'm sure it is, thats why someone needs to stage a "kidnapping" and take me. ****, all you have to do is kidnap m and I'll drive myself. I still haven't gotten to take my truck 4wheelin and Glamis would be a great virgin run for it.

Dune Surfer

Can you kidnap yourself?;)

AndrewRRR
11-20-2002, 10:09 PM
Sweet!! A ransom note huh? That might just work, but I don't think I'm worth very much money to anyone, except for maybe my boyfriend, and he's a full time college student. (a.k.a. "broke white boy")

Str8Wicked
11-26-2002, 01:11 PM
ewwwwww... now why did youi have to tell me that... lol

Will have to see than... That's a lot of gas to get down there and than come back.. Ecspecially with my lifted Avi that only gets 10-11 mpg.... By July it will probably be getting wworse since I'm raising it higher with bigger tires in a few months...

ThorChick
11-26-2002, 01:53 PM
I'm gonna be drivingabout 12 to 14 hours as well, I think thats how long it takes. With my little sister too, we both might not make it there alive though. LOL

My truck gets about 18-20 miles to the gallon and with the power chip I'll be putting in it in February that should make the mileage even better.

Str8Wicked
11-26-2002, 02:53 PM
Not to burst your bubble but I've had chips and programmers on two astro vans, a suburban, and a tahoe and never saw an increase in gas milage even thou they say it will increase it.
