shortening an exhaust?

i am thinking of shortening my HMF but would like to hear what others have to say? what all is involved? benefits or problems?

why dont you just buy a short exhaust

It will be a louder and you will probably gain topend and lose a little bottom end. As far as actually cutting it, should be fairly simple. Just remove the end piece, cut it where you want, drill new holes for end piece, and your done. Depending on how old it is, you may want to go ahead and repack it while it's apart.

b/c i already have a nice pipe. i just want something you dont see everywhere.

i think thatd look/sound pretty sweet. id cut some off of each end so that the HMF logo is centered, then drill the holes for the endcap, then throw that thing on there, try it out, post a pic of it on here, and tell us how it is! :D
