Cam break in

I am wondering what the time frame is for a cam break in. I know you are supposed to keep it in the middle of the rpm band while breaking it in, but for how long?? I will be installing my 943/921 Web this weekend if all goes well. Do I need to change my oil after break in or not???

I would do it for about one tank of gas, thats what I had to do when I installed the stage 2 hotcam. After that you should be able to go ride however you want.

one tank of gas sounds like an insane amount of time. after the install of my hotcam on my 400ex and my hrc cam on my 450r i just ran it mid rpm for about 20-30 minutes and they both turned out perfect and yes change the oil and oil filter after the cam break in.

Yeah, I was going to do it for about 20-30 minutes but I wanted to play it safe so I just went through one tank of gas. Got to know my bike a little better too.lol:rolleyes:
