On ebay a few dealers are now well below $7000 now for the new 450R. One is buy it now for $6900 with free shipping, and this is a very good dealer in CT. Another in Ohio I think has is for $6550 + $140 in doc fees. Are these just not selling great, or not as good as all the hype, or will someone get a awesome deal on a sweet quad? I live close to the one in CT and he will take $400 off if I pick it up. Thats getting it for $6500 otd.:macho

I bought mine the first day they hit the dealer showroom floor. They had gotten three of them. I went down there yesterday and the other two were still there. I guess there not selling good yet, but believe me when I say this, the quad is freakin awesome without a doubt. But when I go riding at the hot spots here in El Paso, Texas no one else has one, everyone is always coming up to me and checking it out. Maybe its not popular yet or something. I don't know. Oh well.

I think the price and being the first model year are holding people back.
My dealer took forever to get mine and he said he had 4 others pre ordered. So there is interest, he has one on the floor.
Maybe others are waiting till some parts come out. It sucks having a stock quad that you can trick out just yet

I got mine in Iowa for $6800 two days after it showed up.

He still has the Black one on the floor for $6950.

He said Saturday that he had 2 green ones coming this month and that only 1 was spoken for.

When we bought our 04 Honda 450R the dealership had 80 of them. They dropped the price to $5299 and sold all of them in a week. What had happened was that the Yamaha came out a few months before and everyone had bought one of them. When the Honda's came out the only people waiting were Honda loyalist and a lot of them ended up getting Yamaha's. Kawasaki might have the best thing out BUT the Suzuki came out first and the Honda got better. Its not that there isn't a market, its that not that many people who want a 450 that don't already have one. If it had been out in October, it would be different.

After reading other posts stating they paid between 6500 - 6900 OTD for their new kfx450.

Does this price include the obligatory destination and freight charges that I had to pay from a dealer in MI.???

My total price was $7,300 QUAD
550 Freight
500 Destination
200 Assembly Fee
150 Taxes
100 Document FEE
FREE Shipping!!

Total = $8,800.00 +/-

Did anyone else pay these other fees when getting their new quad from the dealer?? Just curious what everybody else was paying for the total price, not just quad price????

Dealer told me freight was what it cost for the atv to be shipped overseas to the port. They also said destination fees were for the shipping of the atv from the port to the dealer.

It sounds legitimate. Unless other dealers don't pass that charge forward to buyers like mine did.

I feel like I have been had !!!!
