1995 silverado

Lookin for some info some goods and some bads about it. My dad is doing a job for the truck so i might get it. Just looking to see how they are.

i like them my dad has had a 97 since it was brand new and nuthing major has gone wrong with it.. im planning on buying an 03- 06 this summer

They are a solid truck all in all. Dont know how many miles it has but it will likely be a v8 truck which means its a 350, not a vortec 350 unfortunatly. Good running, dependable motor. Should have a 4L60 transmission which unless its been abused is typically a good tranny as well. Outside of normal used vehicle trouble there arent any big red flags to watch out for. Chevy trucks last and last and last.

my dad has one that year he has 150k miles on it and he has never had a problem with it, typical chevy huh :D

There good trucks. Sucks its not a vortec though. They came in 96

I had a TBI 350 in my 92 2WD and now I have 96 vortec Z71, power is noticeable, but not drastic. I actually think my 92 would've take my 96 in a drag though!:p


350 are tried and true though, IMHO, you can't go wrong with them.

yea i have a 96 with the vortec 350, very nice truck.

sly400ex, ive had both the vortec and just the 350, and in my case the vortec jumps it pretty good.

I have a 94 chevy suburban and it runs good with 174k on it. Only problem really was had to change the freeze plug on it. Good vehicle.

solid trucks. had a 92 with 240k+ miles on it, the original motor lasted 232K on it. kinda wish i hadn't sold it. the TBI is low on power, but will last forever. the tranny is weak if you use it for towing, the front end is weak for off roading, and the 4wd actuator is know to go out. But for a DD or weekend warrior it is great. my 92 was one of the best trucks off road i have owned, but i have yet to have my 03 in any real rough spots yet.

only problem to look out for is rust. mainly on bedsides, cab corners, and bottom of doors.

i have a 97 ext cab z71. 350 vortec with auto trans. great truck.
