i have a 04 yfz450 with gytr pipe, jet kit gytr intake and filter, denton steering stabilizer, suspension is all stock, and i have a 04 trx450r with curtis sparks pipe, stage 2 hot cam ,mild porting, jetted, uni filter, stock suspension, i love the way the yfz feels in the woulds it handles great and goes over the woops awsome, the yfz feels faster and the throttle response is right there,i love riding the trx and love the way it looks,if i get +2 a arms, steering stabilzer and revale my shocks do u think it will be like the yfz,???? or should i keep the yfz and sell the trx???????

yeah, it would definitely be better than the yfz, keep the trx thats probably what everybody on this forum is going to say.

You have a 2004 yfz450 Yamaha?
Any engine problems?
Do a search on the Honda trx450 engines...Cases,Cranks,false neutrals.

You may want to keep what you have!!!
I`am wishing I did!!

are you planning on getting another quad down the road or after you get rid of one?

I would lose the trx and keep the yfz. Go out and grab an 07 trx.
Or visa vera, keep the trx and build it up nice, go out and replace the 04yfz with an 07.

Or ditch them both in favor for a new model of your choice. Hell, I've got one quad and one quad only, and I'm keeping it for ever pretty much.

Like everyone else said, which ever one u feel more comfortable on and which one beats u up less.

IMO stock for stock the the suspension on the YFZ blows away the suspension on the R.
I'm surprised Honda hasn't been sued yet for the 04-05 rear shock, that **** is deadly. lol
And the front shocks just straight up suck until they are revalved,

The suspension is the biggest difference between the two bikes though. They both have great engines and ergonomics's.

Once hooked up with shocks and a-arms though I prefer the feel of the 05 R over any of the other 450s.

IMO if Honda sold all the 450r's with revlaved shocks they would go from the worst stock quad to the best :P
I just can't stand how high and stiff it is out of the show room. lol

1) i think your poll might be more accurate becasue on this part mostly honda guys lookin at it and some people are pro honda or yamaha...imo im po yamaha but lately i havent been havein good luck with any brand...
2) keep the one that you have rode the most and knwo the most about... i'm thinkin about pickin up a yfz some time this fall when they have there blow out sales....
3) if you sell your yfz... part it and you will have enought to pimp out that 450 or the other way around... i say stick to the yamaha... imo....
can you post some pics? i wanna see these beast!

if its an 04 yfz u got 439cc's
i love my 450R and wouldnt trade it for none of the other 450"s
Imo the yfz feels like a two stroke the throttle is stiff and kicks in by the end
The trx has a smooth engine and all around power.
You should choose the 450 to ur liking which ever one u will pick you will be happy with it.
