well i bought my 06 400ex brand new in 05 ,i went with the 400 b/c it had reverse. I've raced motocross on bikes for a good 8 years,and got out of it due to haveing no time to pratice and it was getting expesive doing it on my own. So i just wanted soemthign to mess around on,hill climb trail ride etc. Well i found my self pushing the quad way to hard for what it was.riders with alot less skill on 450s would pull me everywhere.I was in need of power . I started off by adding nerf bars,cheap tusk ones. i've learned you get what you pay for. other things were tag handle bars,got rid of the parking brake and added an OTF clutch lever. stock exhuast wasnt doing it and i didnt have the $ for a new aftermarket so i mounted up a 450r can. those little mods held me over for a few weeks then..then suspension was bottoming all over. On went 450 front shocks. . only 8 months ago i changed out the stock rear tires. Then everything just started snowballing in the last 3 months. I bought a 04 450 motor, fabbed up the mounts and installed it,450 rear shock,+2 arms in the front,t-9's and holeshots up from,fast flex bars, team tapered carrier,did x ring chain,etc. Its finnaly getting to where i want it to be. Just would like to get skid plates,rear rims, and a full exhaust,and some wrath or ac blackline nerfs. heres when it was pretty stock.

very nice looking 400/450.. also nice air!! one thing you might want to think about when you get some time is turning the shocks around. by putting the reservoir on the other side they'll be protected from any possible impacts. nice job though.. i like

took me and a friend 3 nights. to complete the project. I know how to weld and fabricate on my own so that saved lots of time.Wasnt bad at all though.

btw, nice 400ex you have. it's just a bad thing that the botthe on the shock is not on the side, it's gonna look awesome but we need it to be foward or backward :(
