I own a 2000 400ex and it is pertty well beat. I bought a yfz that i am now racing with and the 400 has takin a beating since i bought this because i'm good to the yfz and trash the 400. I did not want to buy a pipe for my yfz so i welded a crotch rocket pipe on the header, i belive it was not enough back pressure now it needs rebuilt. I am trying to sell my 400 and i want to rebuild it but not sure exactly how. and need figure something out with my crotch rocket pipe. new header pipe? any suggestions on first rebuild or the pipe? thnx

Consider parting out your 400EX?? Maybe more $$ in parts???

There is nothing wrong with the 400ex alls it needs is top end rebuilt i think. How much do you think i could get if i parted it out? or what will you offer me for the motor. nothing wrong with it that i know of runs great other than needs rebuilded. i really like this quad and be perfect for woods quad. It has skid plates all under neath it. any offers on parts for it?

I dunno, never parted one out... watch the classified thread and get an idea of what parts go for.

I parted a 400 out a few years back and got about 1100 out of it with a fresh built 416 motor in it. I didnt have an axle though, and the frame and sub frame were bent so they didnt bring anything. I got pretty good prices for most of my stuff i thought... Should give ya an idea where your at...

My opinion is that itll be worth more together and running then parting it out, plus it wont take nearly as long to sell and youll have all the money all at once.
