I got a new 2002 400EX last night. I have shockwears, AC full chassis skid, and an AC swingarm skid. I`m saving for a pipe now. I want to know what you guys think of this setup,
Sparks X-6 Complete
Sparks Advance Key
K&N Air Filter
Outerwear
K&N Jet kit
Does this sound good?

it sounds good but the x-6 is for big bore motors. unless you are planning to do any serious motorwork down the road i suggest you just get the curtis sparks x-4. any other questions ask me

I would wait until the motor is broken in til you start doing motor mods.
Sounds like a good setup but wait about 2 months to do anything to the motor,,geter broke in first....
First break in the engine before you do any mods. The X-6 will be what you want the only difference between the X-6 and X-4 is that the X-6 has better mid and top end the X-4 gives slightly better low end. I use the X-6 with a stock engine (aside from a Keihin FCR carb and exhaust) for MX and it's excellent. In almost every situation the X-6 outperforms the the X-4 and the X-4 is better then all other exhaust so just imagine what kind of power increase the X-6 gives.
Also later down the road if you plan on upgrading your engine you will not have to spend more money for a new exhaust. So in short you will save more money and have a faster quad the choice is yours. If you don't believe me contact Curtis Sparks they will agree with me 100%.

Is there a spark arrestor for the sparks pipes?
And are they extremely loud? Compare them to a supertrapp, T4, or like a WB r4.
thanks

I am going to get the engine good and broke in first. It will be two or three months before I get a pipe. I really don`t care that much now because winter is coming. I may wait til Feb. and order the stuff.
Why are the 400ex`s so cold blooded? It takes forever to get it started and warmed up. The Warrior would start right up.
WB400ex, do you have a Sparks pipe?
Wheelman, how does the pipe look after a season of being used? It`s not blue or anything is it? How much would an X-6 be with a Spark arrestor? I think I want the X-6 because someday I want to put a piston, cam, etc. on it.

i have the white bros e series slip on and i am very pleased with the performance. like i said if you are planning to do more motorwork further down the road go with the x-6 as it will give you better power for the big bores than the x-4.
