Here's one for ya...So I bought a used lonestar axle off ebay for my 450r about three months ago. I finally got around to tearing my bike down now and it turns out that it is not a 450r axle and I am thinking it is for a 400EX, does anyone know the difference between them? It take a 24 spline hub the same as the 450 but just a little bigger. It's not a 250r axle because they are a 25 spline, although it takes the same size hub nut as the 250r. If I can figure out what it is, it will be up for grabs.

Hubs for a 450r and a 400ex are interchangeable. I have 450r hubs on my 400ex when I run sand tires. Also, many Yamaha hubs will fit both the 450r and the 400ex. I run yfz hubs on my 416ex because my beadlocks are yamaha bolt pattern. But my paddles have wheels for Honda bolt pattern. So, a buddy gave me the 450r hubs which I use for my paddles.

The point is, if the 450r hubs don't fit, it isn't a 400ex axle because the 450r hubs would fit a 400ex axle.

By the way, my axle is an LSR as well.

Oh yeah - look for a serial number or any number on the axle. Then call LSR and see what it fits. You would probably have better luck selling it and getting a reasonable price if you did figure out what this axle fits. Just a thought. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies guys, I don't see any serial number or anything at all stamped on the axle. The 450 hubs look like they should go on but are just too tight. I'm stumped!

mine is stamped as well, so it may not be for a 400 or a 450

I will try and check tonight to see if mine is stamped also. Mine is a bit older so who knows if it will be stamped. If the older ones are stamped also, I'm thinking maybe what you have isn't a LSR axle at all.

If you can't find any markings at all, maybe you could take some close up pics and send them to LSR to see if they can confirm whether or not it is one of their axles.

You might also post some pics here. Maybe someone can take a look and give some more advice as to what kind of axle it is and what it fits.

Hopefully we can get this figured out. I hate it when people misrepresent things being sold on ebay or any where else.
