Figured I get some input from you guys on what you feel is the best suspension setup for a Big bore stroker (460 or 505) mx 400ex.

+2, +3 on the front? -2, +4 +8 on the rear swing arm? Long travel obviously!? What brand equipment and why? Anything that you think would contribute to a wicked mx 400.

If money is not a concern.....

Walsh racecraft +3 long travel w/ custom axis shocks.
I think both these companies put alot of r&d into their products and from what I hear (never owned them) they are the best you can get.

+1 1/4 is what most people use for mx on a 400 but with that big of a motor I'm not sure... +4 is way too long on a swing arm for mx though. As for what brand, I don't know.

best is an opinion, everyone is gonna tell you to run whatever they run.

i would say as long as it is a reputable company, you should not have any problems.

most run +3's up front with a +1 1/4 swinger. like someone else said, +4 is way to long for MX. i personally have a burgard swinger +1.25, but RPM makes great stuff. for a-arms, i am a fan of houser or roll design.

shocks, i like Ohlins alot. but Axis is great, as well as elka.

If money is not a concern I'd definently go with Roll Design A-arms with the Custom Axis shocks or Walsh A-arms with Custom Axis or Motowoz shocks.

I personally think that even though there crazy expensive Roll Design is the way to go. I have there swinger and I tell you it's the best thing i've purchased, I had a deal on there A-arms not to long ago too but I did'nt go through with it.

i have a +1 1/4 Lonestar swing arm and +2 elka's in the front, ony compression ajustable. I plan on re doing my front end next season though. For the rear shock i have Elka suspension fully ajustable. I have not tried it yet but im sure it will be nice.
