18 Pro's signed up for todays event and after and exciting 1st Moto theres no telling what Moto 2 will have in store for us. Will Joe Byrd be able to secure another 1st overall or will Team Suzuki give Byrd and Team Honda a run for their Money.

Moto 1:

John Natalie grabbed the holeshot.

In turn two Natalie and Harold Goodman got tied up and Goodman wrecked.

Keith little went down at the end of the First lap.

Natalie maintained the lead for the 1st half of the race until his bike mysteriously quit.

Chad Wienen stalled which left Jeremy Lawson and Byrd battling for the lead.

Pat brown, who was running mid-pack, also stalled his Yamaha over a big step up.

Joe Byrd held on for the Moto 1 win followed by Lawson and Wienen.

1. Joe Byrd
2. Jeremy Lawson
3. Chad Wienen

wienen was out in front by about 8-10 seconds and halfway threw the last lap he knew his motor was about to go and rolled the jumps crusing to the finish and before the last turn maybe 100 yards from the finish it blew up

also the pass he made on wimmer was awsome he was trippling into the whoops/ rythem section and went by wimmer like he wasnt even moving

I don't think Natalie or Wienen need a different builder....they already have one of the best. Them 2 guys are just having some tough luck right now and that's how it goes sometimes......Remember JONES #2 last year???? He had bad luck for his first 4 races then came back to be 2nd in points until his unfortunate happening.... The tough luck for Wienen is just that...tough luck! He and Natalie are just gonna have to put thier heads down and do what they do best....RACE!

He was flying in the 2nd moto untill the case broke and all the fluid leaked out. He is the one to watch this year! The way he went thru all those new whoops was exciting to watch!

You know, uless something changes drastically, Joe isn't even going to have to show up for tha last couple races of the year. There isn't going to be anyone to race with and honestly that is SAD! As a racer, I wouldn't think that would NOT be any fun for him either. Everyone has to admit, Joe is on it also. He could race a 300EX and still win the championship once the WPSA series starts up. Unless Pat Brown desides to ride something other than that pile he's on now. A differnt color would do him good, ANY color other than the one he's on. To be honest, I don't get it either, because Bill Ballace can pound the pi$$ out of his for 2 1/2 hours with no problems.
Joe, please race the WPSA series. Other wise your summer is going to be really dull!;)

LTR450_#67
04-03-2007, 01:19 AM
C'mon guys there are what.....11 races left. Anything is possible....
Yeah I know a lot of them racers are going to switch to the WPSA but at the same time they will run both GNC and WPSA unless the dates are the same for some races.
I don't think they build the X-country racer engines up as much as they do MX engines...I could be wrong about that too!

just let the season unfold guys......

04-03-2007, 07:36 AM
Yeh Jeremy is a good choice also, I just thought that Joe and Pat were the only 2 that were committed to the GNC series. I also understand that they are being paid to race the GNC's also. As a racer, I would want some compatition is all I'm saying.

Being from Illinois though, I've got to root for Chad no matter what series he races.

so what do you think they have been doin? they always put their heads down & race. you have a line, build tha crap outa a motor they wont hold up. period. build one fast & reliable. not a 65 hp time bomb. if you say chad has not put his head down & raced your an idiot. watchin him this year is kinda like watchin james stewart. same level in my book.

Yogi - take a chill pill.....I didn't say that Chad isn't riding hard enough. I just simply meant he needs to keep coming back at it hard. As for the motor building... I think it's a fluke for now.

But really chill out.

Dang, wienen would be so fast but like others said he is always having mechanical failures and on the last lap? Come on, maybe he will learn from these mistakes and get a good engine builder who makes power and reliability for at least one moto.

I just heard a rumor that Weinen let Rage go as his engine builder. If so he is sure to win some races this year. It sucks for him at the last two events. Imagine leading two motos and having back to back engine's let go. That must really suck. Has anybody else had these problems this year? Oh that's right John had the same thing happen also. I think somebody needs to go back to the drawing board.

Ralph

For all the people talking out of ther as ses about rage motors. here is what the guy actualy building them says.

PLEASE READ AROUND BEFORE YOU MAKE DUMB POSTS.

I dont do the net much anymore because of the time preparing for the upcoming season. My wife told me about the thread and I thought I could bring some inquiring minds up to speed on whats going on with big weens....

Chad has been here for the past three months training here and testing combinations. We know what the engine case problem is, and we are working on it. The problem is Chad is just plain and simple riding past the bikes capabilities. The case cracking is coming from the frame flexing. It either breaks on the left or the right just like an eggshell. I have addressed the problem with Mike Walsh, Wayne Meridian of PEP and some of the others in the industry to get some help, just had no luck. No worries, we will have a hand on it before the season starts. As far as Natalie goes, he was unable to come down and test his engines this year so we have been using the GNCs for testing to see how much we can get away with this year. Both John and Chad have been racing on there practice bikes and we will have new ones for the WPSAs so by then I will have the bugs worked out of the combos. Believe me when I say this, I want to win just as bad as the riders so I will be doing everything I can to make it happen for them.
Hopefully we will have some luck on our side.

See ya at the races. Dee

GO RAGE! GO CHAD!!! Kick some *****. I'd like to see team Zook win since I own one but ever since I watched Chad ride here at the local track where I race, I have been a big fan. He pulled away from the A class field make them look pitaful. I have never been to a national or WPSA YET, but seeing the way Chad put the smack down was awesome. I am a big fan of all the riders but like all of us we have our favorites and Chad is one of them.

Just like Dee said previously we are working out the bugs so to speak. BlindKaeta, here you are again you seem to be bashing us on 3 websites now. As usual you do not know what you are talking about. Chad finished I believe 3rd at alabama, he won the 2nd moto, and crashed the first, I don't think but I am not sure but was not a motor problem. In Glen Helen, he finished the first moto, the pit crew did not like the way the motor was running so the did an engine swap, they zip stripped the electrical wires to a bracket on the frame which broke off pulling the coil wire loose, causing the motor to die. In texas he broke the cases which then allowed the oil to leak out then I believe the motor locked up. He did NOT have hugh power that has been so wrongly reported. As a matter of fact he came to us with broken cases so take it for what it is worth. Try getting all the facts before you start bashing. Thanks for your interest though. Michele

those of which you speak are called "fans".....they have opinion, and most of the time are either misinformed or "fans" of a competing racer.

my advice, get used to this, as the sport grows so will the banter. and if the "pro's" dont wish to participate then thats fine, you wont find tony stewart or jeff gordon and their mechanics online nightly defending everyone who says they suck.
