Why do you want everyone to tell you what to get? Wouldn't it be a better choice to get something that YOU like?

It's all personal preference, just because a bunch of extremely bias people on here tell you what to get, doesn't mean you should go out and do it.

Most people on here will tell you what to get based on the fact that their diehard Yamaha fans, or diehard Honda fans, or Suzuki, or Kawasaki. Hell, there will probably be some KTM fans telling you to weight for the new KTM quad, with no knowledge of it. VERY few posts will be based on facts, just personal preference/opinion.

For example, I would choose either a Honda, or the new Kawasaki, because I can't stand the ergonomics of an LT-R(I'm 6'3"), and I don't trust a Yamaha nearly as much as the the Honda. I don't trust the Kawi yet, but If I were to get one, I'd give it time for the potential problems to be worked out. See how most of that is all personal opinion. You could believe COMPLETELY different, and niether one of us will know whos right.

Just go out there, and figure it out for yourself, only you can know the correct answer

a 15 yo on a 450? Not completely unheard of if you ask me. My friend was racing his R at age 14!!!

I started out on a warrior at 14 (first quad) had a CR125 before that.

Your probably waaaay to big for the 90 anyways, right???

My neibors son is 9 and rides a 660r Raptor almost everday wide open all over the place. Hes a farm boy though so it doesnt worry me to much. He has to stand up on it, because if he sits down his feet wont reach the shifter or back brake lol. One day he was even pulling wheelies lol. Crazy ****....

ah what a classic stereo type! my yfzs been good to me except for the rod bearing letting go, but the same thing happened to my buddies 450r within a week of each other. i think a quad is as reliable as you make it, hondas are no more reliable than yamahas. i hold my experience and my buddies 450r as proof. by the way, my bearing failure was due to a hole in the radiator i didnt know about, his just up and went.

i change my vote from a LTR to a LT250r, or a tecate :D

i dont think that it is too big of a jump i ride my dads 450r like it is mine
i can do all of the things on his that i can do on mine and more and i am 12!
you just have to no your limits it does not matter the size of the bike as long as you know your limits you will be fine
i would go with the 450r becausethey have great power
the yfz does too(my friend has one(yfzrb))but i think the the hanlde bars are too low and it cost more

so more money fot the bike and more onmoey to rise the bars
but thoses are just my thoughts
get what u want and what feels comfertible to you!!!!

i started off on a xr90 at age 10, then a year later my brother passed me down his blaster, rode that for 2 years, and my dads raptor 660, then bought my 250r. i was 13 at the time. i rode it fine, now im 16 and getting a ltr 450 this week he will be fine.

here a pic of me on my 250r if you dont believe me, i was close to 14 in this pic i believe.

btw.. i wasn't tall, and weighed 120 at the most. its all about skill, and maturity IMO.

(almost forgot my opinion) i liked the yamaha better, felt more stable, lower, and the power.

I will try to ride them both and see withch one fits me better. I have been wantin to get a 450r but i like the feel of the yfz (my big bros) but i dont know about the 450r because i have never rode one yet.

Trx250rider86

since you rode and like the yamaha, i would go for the yamaha, Unless you ride the honda and like it more. You def wouldnt regret getting either one, they are both great.

I would keep the suzuki and kawi in mind too.

its all about riding style IMO. The yamaha slides into turns more while the honda kinda corners them up. The honda power is kinda smoother while the yamaha has more of a hard punch. I dont own neither, but i have rode both many times, MX and trail.
